Local Singer/Songwriter Poet Daniel Kosel brings ‘The Universal Language' to ABT

BILLINGS, MT - Local “crues” singer/songwriter poet Daniel Kosel performs The Universal Language, an interactive evening of music and storytelling, at Alberta Bair Theater on Friday, April 27, 2018. Crues music is a passionate blend of country, rock and blues. Tickets, $30, go on sale to the public on Friday, March 9 at 10 a.m. at the ABT Box Office on the corner of 3rd Ave N and N Broadway, by phone at 406-256-6052 (box office hours are Monday through Friday, 10 -5 and Saturday 10 - 3) and/or online at www.albertabairtheater.org

Born in Seattle and raised in Montana, Kosel began creating poetry and music in the years following the death of his mother to find peace with the challenges born of grief and lost love. His hearty appreciation for artists like Stevie Ray Vaughan, Chet Atkins, Dwight Yoakam, Aretha Franklin, Buddy Holly, George Jones, John Fogerty, Merle Hattard and ZZ Top are evident as strong influences in his style of singing and playing guitar.

He wrote and recorded two original albums in 2017 including Beartooth Stage and The Rain. Each live performance supporting these original projects gains Kosel a stronger fan base. These songs bring raw emotion, intelligent poetry, soulful vocals and sweet guitar stylings with an originality and purity that appeals widely to audiences.

“I write music and poetry to bring light into a world filled with darkness,” says Kosel. “I love sharing the healing power of my gifts with those struggling with grief, trauma, pain, anxiety, sadness, depression, regret, abuse, addiction, and loss.”

Adopted by World War II Navy veterans Andrew and Agnes Kosel in 1970, Daniel was raised as the youngest of 10 children. The Kosel Family taught him traditional values, encouraging kindness, fostering respect, disarming prejudice and facilitating confidence.  He shares his fascinating upbringing during an original interactive concert filled with music making and storytelling intended to help people broaden their life perspectives and journey towards peace.

This performance benefits Tumbleweed and is sponsored by Langlas & Associates.
