1.       Do I need to have antivirus?

a.       Antivirus is the most important software to have on your computer to protect you and your data. There are free options available, but this is one area not to cut costs on. The cost probably directly reflects the support and reliability of the Antivirus installed. 2.       Do I need a firewall?

a.       Firewall software is an area of much debate from one technician to another. However, generally we have found that most PC’s with software firewall protection are improperly configured and slows a pc down by as much as 65%. If you have a good Antivirus and are behind a router the built in firewall of XP or vista is sufficient for the average users needs.

3.       Can other people access my internet when I have a wireless router?

a.       If the security level is not configured properly, then yes!‼ This is why it is important not to attempt setting it up yourself, but have a certified expert do this. They can ensure that no one can access your home or office network.

4.       Can you recover data?

a.       Yes, we have multiple ways to do this. Sometimes it is an easy and very affordable process, other times it can become costly. However, 99% of all data recovery is affordable. Customers who are proactive and properly back up there data daily never need data recovery.

5.       Can you come to our home or office? Moreover, does it cost more?

a.       Yes, we prefer too and no, it does not cost you anymore. It is much easier to catch “odd ball” items and environmental issues when we are onsite. Nothing is more frustrating than to have you bring a pc to a shop and the issue does not duplicate it in the shop. Onsite is better. Faster and more affordable.

6.       Do you offer phone support?

a.       We offer no free phone support but we do offer remote support and phone support at our regular billable rate.

7.       How can I back up my data?

a.       There are multiple ways to back up data. These days we prefer an offsite automated backup service. We offer one that is very affordable and allows us to guarantee the data selected is backed up and recoverable. No guess work either.
