Billings Clinic opens ExpressCare Retail Clinic - Mobile App Scheduling

Billings Clinic’s first ExpressCare retail clinic opens for business at noon on December 11, 2013. The clinic offers patients quick access to primary care in convenient locations for minor medical issues provided by Billings Clinic nurse practitioners and physician assistants. The first site is located near the pharmacy in the Albertsons store located at 3137 Grand Avenue on the West End of Billings. Three additional ExpressCare clinics located at other Billings Albertsons stores will open in the Spring and Summer of 2014.

Billings Clinic’s first ExpressCare retail clinic opens for business at noon on December 11, 2013.  The clinic offers patients quick access to primary care in convenient locations for minor medical issues provided by Billings Clinic nurse practitioners and physician assistants.   The first site is located near the pharmacy in the Albertsons store located at 3137 Grand Avenue on the West End of Billings.  Three additional ExpressCare clinics located at other Billings Albertsons stores will open in the Spring and Summer of 2014.

ExpressCare is the first medical retail clinic of its kind in Billings and one of more than 1,450 retail clinics in the nation.  Over the next three years, Accenture Research predicts that the number of health clinics will grow to 2,800, providing a projected 10.8 million patient visits per year.  HSC Research reports that in 2010, 69.1% of visits at retail clinics treated patients with new illness or symptoms.  Patients reported the primary reasons for choosing a retail clinic included convenient hours, ease of scheduling and walk-in appointments, convenient locations, and affordable pricing.

To support the promise of convenience and quick access to care, ExpressCare offers a mobile application for both Apple and Android mobile devices   allowing patients to use their smart phones and tablets to quickly and easily reserve time on the ExpressCare schedule.  In addition to the e-Scheduling option, appointments will be available for walk-in customers.  Information about services provided and pricing information is also available on the mobile app.   Please visit http://m.billingsclinic.com/expresscare.php to download the app to a mobile device or scan this QR code:

“We are excited to be adding ExpressCare to our urgent care services at Billings Clinic.   ExpressCare complements our primary care services and provides an affordable, convenient and easily accessible option for care for minor illnesses,” said James Girolami, MD, family medicine physician at Billings Clinic and Medical Director for ExpressCare. “With our electronic medical record, we are able to seamlessly integrate the information from these visits into our patients’ records to facilitate continuity of care throughout our system.”

The providers at ExpressCare will treat patients seeking services for: allergies, bladder infections, ear infections and ear pain, colds and/or respiratory illness, pink eye or styes, sinus infection and/or sinus pain, sore throat, rashes, cold sores, bug bites, athlete’s foot or ringworm, minor burns, and skin abrasions.  Procedures will include wart removal and ear lavage.  Testing will include rapid strep screen, flu screen, urine pregnancy test, urine screen, and TB/Mantoux testing.  Vaccinations available will include influenza, tetanus, (TD, TDAP), Hepatitis B, pneumonia, and meningitis.

Services offered at ExpressCare will have a set price ranging from $25 - $70.  ExpressCare locations will accept most major insurance.  Customers will be required to pay their co-pay at the time of service.  Customers without insurance or customers with insurance that is not accepted at ExpressCare will be required to pay at the time of service.  ExpressCare locations will accept payment by check or credit card.
