Folks in Billings are waking up to snow on the ground and it will continue to fall Tuesday.
Allow a little extra time for your Valentines Day plans. Mother Nature brought a snowstorm and accumulations may be four inches in some areas.

This snow is a wet one and happens when the air temperature near the surface is above freezing, causing the snowflakes to partially melt before reaching the ground. It was almost 60 degrees in Billings Monday.
Snow forms when water vapor in the atmosphere freezes directly into ice crystals and falls to the ground as precipitation. When it falls heavily or for long periods, it can accumulate to several inches and become a travel hazard on roads and walkways.

Give yourself extra time on your morning commute or dropping the kids at school; roads will be slick and snowy.
The NWS reports a possible 4 to 6 inches south of Billings.
