Eli Gillman rushed for a career high 119 yards and a touchdown, while quarterback Clifton McDowell added another 80 yards rushing and a touchdown to lead No. 14 Montana to victory in their season opener.  The Grizzlies persevered after coming into the game as near 40 points favorites.

Montana rushed for 230 yards and threw for 211 yards.  Montana played two quarterbacks with starting Grizzlies’ quarterback Sam Vidlak completing 15 of 25 passes for 180 yards, 1 touchdown, and 2 interceptions.  

The Grizzlies and the Bulldogs broke even in the turnover department with each team giving up two.  Trevon Gradney had an interception and Anaconda standout Braxton Hill recovered a fumble for the Grizzlies.
