Most of what’s left of Sober Beginnings, A  Sober Living Home, is a charred and destroyed residence.

Fire investigators are still determining a cause but a loud boom was heard and then fire raced up a nearby electrical pole. The fire quickly engulfed the entire porch area and spread through the kitchen.

13 men were living at the home and 12 were inside when the fire started. One man wasn’t there and was at work at the time.

Kacy Keith is the founder of Sober Beginnings and also a manager at the SureStay Hotel in Billings. The men are now staying at SureStay and the Billings community has been generous with clothing donations.

“We actually have enough clothing thanks to all the help. But, now we’re in great need of food, personal hygiene products and other daily supplies,” said Keith.

The Billings Beat Better Campaign – helping better the lives of our Billings Neighbors, is helping to collect goods and donations for the sober home victims. Kacy Keith is asking everyone to drop off supplies at the SureStay for now and did set up a GoFundMe account and a meal train.

“….first of all I want to thank each and everyone who had donated to help with our fellas after their house unexpectedly caught on fire last Friday. We have been so very very blessed by so many people in the billings community. I have a young lady that has set up several meals and others that have set it up through me. I thought maybe setting up a meal train would help us organize this and get our guys fed in the evening. Here is the link if you are interested in getting on the daily list of supplying with a dinner in the evening. Thank you so very much in advance. Thank you Crystal Toews Martin for helping with meals!! mealtrain.com/9m379k,” said Keith.
