“After years of efforts between businesses, city and state personal there will be NEW flashing pedestrian activated beacons installed to a Montana Avenue crosswalk soon and we’ll be coordinating with the Chamber and the Depot, and City to host a ribbon cutting when the lights are installed,” Lindsey Richardson the Community Engagement & Events Director for Downtown Billings Alliance said.

The lighted crosswalks are so important, according to Richardson, because downtown Billings has three state owned highways that run through it and working with MDT “to make Montana, 1st and 27th more walkable and safer for pedestrians has been a big topic for years.”
