Through the generosity of Laurel ACE Hardware and Shamrock Foodservice Warehouse in Billings, Veterans Navigation Network (VNN) is holding a FREE event for service members, veterans, and their families on Saturday from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm at VFW Post 6774 637 Anchor Ave, Billings, MT 59105.
Vet Connect will provide the military veteran community with the opportunity to associate with other people who have shared similar experiences, build friendships, and reduce feelings of isolation and loneliness. Social events like this can provide veterans with a sense of purpose and meaning and can help veterans feel like they’re part of something larger than themselves, that they are not alone.
Adjusting to civilian life after military service is often a complex process and even many of our older veterans have still not fully transitioned. Veterans may grapple with adjusting to a different pace of life, finding meaningful employment, dealing with physical injuries, or coping with mental health issues like PTSD. VNN supports veterans and aims to address these challenges.
“VNN improves the quality of life for our military veteran community. America can never repay the debt we owe our armed forces for their service and sacrifice. However, the September 23 Vet Connect event will allow us to express our gratitude and honor their service,” said Mike McManus, Program Coordinator, Veterans Navigation Network.
