Lightning flashes lit up the night sky as if it were daylight in Billings during a thunderstorm Monday night.

Hazardous Weather Conditions – The NWS Billings posted an alert: “A storm producing winds 45-60 mph will move north from Billings and through Roundup and surrounding areas. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is also occurring in this storm. The storm will hit the yellow, circled area in the next 45 minutes. Take shelter if in it,!” according to NWS Billings.

The rain started falling intermittently early Monday evening and the storm picked up around 8pm with heavier rains and winds gusting around 10pm
