Put your jazz tappers on and come on out to Petro Hall Friday night for some of the hottest jazz you’ll hear anywhere.

The greats including Winston Marsalis, Louis Armstrong and Duke Ellington are the inspirations for many younger jazz musicians and now’s your chance to hear the best of the new generations play.

The Jazz Festival Concert is featuring the MSUB Jazz Band and guest artists including  Alex IlesBob BowmanBrennan BaglioWayne BergeronKatisse Buckingham, Maynard Ferguson, Bill Watrous, Doc Cheatum, George Shearing, Bobby Shew, Nick Mancini, Denis DiBlasio, Eric Richards, Kelly Berdahl, Matt OttoDarrell GreenDontae Winslow, and Camille Thurman.

This is a collaboration of some of the best jazz artists playing currently and a rare opportunity in Billings to hear some of the finest.

The amazing jazz begins at 9pm on Friday, February 3, but doors open at 6:30 pm.

General Admission tickets to attend the performance are only $15. FREE Admission with a valid MSUB ID at the door.

All college, high school, and junior high jazz ensembles in the state are cordially invited including big bands, combos, modern bands, vocal jazz, and any other size or instrumentation of Jazz or Commercial ensemble.

In addition to adjudication, highly experienced clinicians will also provide improvisation, instrumental, and music production clinics which is an incredible experience if you’ve never heard improv jazz!

This festival is non-competitive and focused on education and nurturing the love of music and you’ll have the chance to enjoy first-call soloists too.

There are no adjudication fees required for this festival.
