Directed and produced by innovator Miral Kotb, Artist of Light has been seen Off Broadway, and tours the United States, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.

About iLuminate Innovator Miral Kotb
Miral Kotb is a prolific entrepreneur in the fields of technology development and the performing arts. Her skills in coding and dance were fostered by the age of 9 and remained passions separately practiced up to early adulthood. Miral’s work has since been presented in over 15 countries, including her native home of Egypt.

Miral received her degree in Computer Science from Columbia University while honing in on dance training in New York City. Upon graduating she secured a position with Bloomberg L.P. as a senior software engineer then entered the world of mobile application development.

Shortly thereafter, Miral had an early vision of a project that would combine her two passions. A concept made of dancers wearing costumes that illuminated wirelessly to complement a combination of music and choreography. She pursued her idea with help from some of the best hardware and software engineers in the business and in 2009 she founded iLuminate, which has paved the way for a new art form and continues to impact people locally and globally in schools, arenas and Off Broadway theaters.

In just a few short years, Miral has become a brilliantly valued public speaker at organizations and corporate events including Google Zeitgeist, Google’s sponsored Made with Code, where she is also a mentor, On Cue, TedX Teen, TedX Broadway, The Apple Developer Conference 2017, Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing, Adaptive Paths, Center for Global Brand Leadership, National Arts Marketing Project, NEXTECH, Capital One, and Acuity Brands. Miral is a cancer survivor and has been honored to speak at foundation galas, including Friends of Egyptian Children with Cancer and continues to inspire a sense of resilience within the lives of those affected by Cancer.

As a software engineer, Miral partnered up with Code.org to create an educational video that is played for students in Elementary schools around the world. She has programmed iLuminate’s patented technology for such Grammy-winning superstars as Chris Brown, Christina Aguilera, The Black Eyed Peas, and Death Cab for Cutie. The technology has also been featured on shows including Dancing With The Stars, The American Music Awards, Mira Quien Baila, The X Factor, MTV’s Video Music Awards, Nickelodeon’s HALO Awards, and the BET Awards.
