The Billings Symphony Orchestra & Chorale on YPR

BILLINGS, MT - The Billings Symphony Orchestra & Chorale is proud to announce the premier of our first ever radio broadcast of Billings Symphony Live on Yellowstone Public Radio, narrated by longtime orchestra member and violist, Ken Gilstrap.

Billings Symphony Live is a 13 week program that will highlight the best of the Billings Symphony Orchestra & Chorale. The first show will premiere on Monday, July 2nd at 11 am after Performance Today, and will continue every Monday throughout the summer. The last show will be on Monday, September 24. Billings Symphony Live will be available for streaming the day after it premiers on YPR on our website, billingssymphony.org.concerts/radio.

“This is a huge deal for us” states Darren Rich, Executive Director of the Billings Symphony Orchestra & Chorale. “Not many orchestras our size have a radio show.” A survey completed by the League of American Orchestras states that 3 out of 33 orchestras in the same budget class as the BSO&C surveyed reported having radio shows. The next largest budget size orchestras reported 4 out of 28. No smaller orchestras have reported any broadcasts. “We are very excited to be able to reach a larger audience, and very excited to partner with YPR to make the Billings Symphony Orchestra & Chorale even more enjoyable.”
