Founder of Warrior Wishes, Miguel Gonzalez, talks about how Warrior Wishes was founded out of necessity; a lack of help and resources for returning veterans who may struggle with the transition from military life to civilian life. Miguel talks about his personal process and struggle returning to society after his time in the military trying to attain benefits and medical assistance he required. Miguel feels that it is important to implement certain processes – navigation, support, and other assistance – currently unavailable or lacking to veterans. Warrior Wishes, aside from helping with the navigation process, provides a genuine sense of community and comradery veterans have experienced in the military. Warrior Wishes holds raffles and monthly meetings to raise money and support.
