A local non-profit, Southwest Billings Smart Growth was put together by Missy Jones and a friend, both former school board members, as a response to the need for a high school in southwest Billings. Together they hope and aim to bring a high school to this region. Kelsey Daer discusses how the Billings community has been more reactive than proactive and also supports this movement as a move forward for children. In the “storming and formation” period, Southwest Billings Smart Growth is gaining traction in both the community and legislation. Find more information on the organization’s Facebook page.
