Billings has several local breweries perfect for catching up with friends or relaxing after a long day of work. Discovering Montana lists some of the best breweries in Billings to try this summer.
Canyon Creek Brewing is one brewery that began more than 20 years ago by Ron Kalvig. The high demand for his original brews sparked an idea to open a brewery. The doors to Canyon Creek opened in December of 2014 with two patios, two bars, and a beautiful outdoor fireplace. And, of course, Canyon Creek Brewing has a great beer selection. One selection is the Beer Henge Hefe is, a light and crisp wheat beer, and the new McCreek Irish Stout that has a smooth and robust taste with a dry finish.
Another brewery is Uberbrew Supterlative Beer, located on historic Montana Avenue. One of their most well-known brews is White Noise, their signature wheat beer that won a gold medal in 2016 at the Great American Beer Festival. Their originally crafted beer pairs great with the food options available, like smoked wings or the Bison Burger with arugula, onion rings, and huckleberry BBQ with a sesame seed bun on top. Uberbrew has their happy hour from 2-5 pm Monday through Friday and is open daily from 11 am-9 pm.
Thirsty Street Brewing Company has two locations in Billings: Thirsty Street Taproom and Thirsty Street Garage. This microbrewery has a diverse beer menu for even the pickiest drinkers, with cider and wine options. Some of their beer options include the “Rimcock’d” Amber and the Trail Junkie Kolsch, with proceeds going towards the Billings TrailNet. Thirsty Street also has live music and free open ping pong play at the Garage on Tuesdays.
