Big Sky Senior Services announced Friday that volunteers would hand out Thanksgiving meals to their clients in Yellowstone County behind the Perkins on the corner of N 26th St. and 9th Avenue.

During the holiday season, seniors may need extra support with meals. Each male was made possible by generous donors and a grant from the Sample Foundation. The Sample Foundation provides resources to local nonprofits across the state. Tyler Amundson with Big Sky Senior Services said each meal will be in a reusable meal box so their clients can eat them that day or save them for leftovers.

This is the first year doing it without meal prep kits, which has been done in the past. Having premade meals makes it much easier for seniors, so they do not have to make something themselves.

Big Sky senior services serve 460 seniors, and that need is continually growing. They are learning how to serve more local seniors, expanding services to those who need them.
