Tons of holiday cheer is happening in Billings! Here are a few holiday events to attend this year that will make you feel merry and bright.

37th Annual Holiday Parade

Downtown Billings Alliance is hosting its 27th annual Holiday Parade, which starts November 25 at 6:30 pm. A holiday tradition that many locals look forward to where they can see over 50 floats, all created by a  local business, organization, or community group. The press release says this year’s parade theme is Holiday movies.

Winners for best float categories will also be unveiled during the parade. Catogiers include Best Overall Entry. Best Performers, DBA staff favorite, Best Float, and more!  The parade starts at 22nd Ave. N and 32nd Ave N. near Granite Tower, a new route that started in 2021. The parade then heads east onto 2nd Ave N towards the Skypoint, turning left on N. Broadway, then runs west in one block on 3rd Ave. N.

And don’t miss Santa, who will appear towards the end of the parade! Before the parade starts, families can get their pictures taken with Santa from 4:30 pm to 6 pm. Santa pictures will be taken inside the Valley Credit Union Branch on 2nd Ave. N. near the start of the parade route. Those who cannot make it can watch the parade online and over the air on Community Seven Television.

First Friday Holiday Stroll

Another can’t-miss event that starts December 2 is the 21 annual downtown Billings Holiday Stroll, which starts at 5 pm, part of DBA’s First Friday of the month. Another feature during the night is the holiday artwalk from 5 pm to 9 pm. These artwalks showcase fine art from local and regional artists at numerous downtown locations.

Other exciting things happening during the holiday stroll are festive trolley rides from Bravera! Each stroll trolley makes a stop at Skypoint, The Billings Depot, and the Yellowstone Art Museum. There will also be free Santa pictures inside the Babcock Arcade, next to Montagues Jewelry, courtesy of TDS Fiber.

There will also be live music playing inside the lobby of the Northern hotel, with Youth Fiddlers at 6 pm, BELLISSIMO at 4 pm, and more! Wood-burning fire pits from White Heating and Air Conditioning will be set on Broadway Ave. These fire pits are perfect for gathering around them with loved ones while sipping on a holiday beverage from the Montana Brewing Company.
