The Billings Symphony Orchestra recently announced upcoming auditions for multiple tenured positions. The Billings Symphony Orchestra and Chorale is the largest professional orchestra in Montana, according to the press release. It was established in 1951 and strives to enrich lives through music. The Billings Symphony Orchestra and Chorale consists of over 135 musicians and serves a population of 400,000 people located in south central and eastern Montana, and northeastern Wyoming. Through the Billings Symphony Orchestra and Chorale’s community engagement program, Explore Music!, the organization introduces music to children, youth, adults, and seniors.

The Billings Symphony’s 2023-2024 season repertoire includes Respighi’s Fountains of Rome, Brahms’ A German Requiem, and Mahler’s Symphony No. 1.

- Principal Percussion, April 23rd
- Second Flute, April 1st
- Second Bassoon, April 22nd
- Third Bassoon/Contrabassoon, April 22nd
- Fourth Horn, April 23rd
- Second Trumpet, April 1st
- Principal Viola, April 23rd
- Assistant Principal Viola, April 23rd
- Assistant Principal Cello, April 23rd
- Section Strings (violin, viola, cello, bass), April 23rd

Auditions will be double-blind; each candidate will perform behind a screen where the auditionee can’t see the audition committee and the audition committee will not know the identity of the auditionee.
