The Montana Renewable Energy Association is having its 11th Clean Energy Fair 2022 on Aug. 14 in Butte, Montana, from 9 am – 3:30 pm. Visitors learn the importance of renewable energy, how it benefits the earth and the latest info on clean energy use.
Two tents are set up at the event with 45-minute workshops led by renewable energy experts on topics like solar electricity basics, Energy conservation and efficiency, and the future of Energy in the northwest. The workshops will have 10-15 minutes set aside to answer any questions others may have.
Guests will also have plenty of chances to win special raffle prizes such as gift cards from local breweries, restaurants, and other businesses. The grand prize for the raffle is an M1 electric Fat Tire Bike, thanks to Maverick Motorsports in Butte.
The Clean Energy fair also has plenty of kids’ activities planned for the event, like a coloring station, face painting, and a bouncy castle! Activities for ages six and up include solar cooking, where kids can make solar ovens out of pizza boxes and make delicious treats. Another activity is creating artwork using recycled items you can find at home. Kids ages eight and up can participate in the model solar car assembly and racing activity, where they build model cars with tools from the MREA that run on solar energy: awards are given to all racers!
Other renewable energy organizations will be at the fair, including Forward Montana, Bozeman Green Build, and the Montana Environmental Information Center. The free event is a great way to learn about renewable energy resources. If you are interested in attending, make sure to RSVP here.
