Grace Leer was among the top 10 artists in season 18 of American Idol, but she had a passion for music long before she was a contestant.

Originally from California, Grace started singing at six years old and grew up listening to female powerhouse country artists like the Dixie Chicks, Shania Twain, and Martina Mcbride. Leer also grew up listening to other iconic female artists like Whitney Houston. On top of singing, Grace found time to get into sports playing D1 soccer at the University of Berkley while living in California. Over two years ago, Leer made a giant leap and moved to Nashville, Tennessee, to pursue a career in music.

When she auditioned for American Idol in front of the judges, Leer said she was a contestant on American Juniors when she was eleven and even made it into the top 20! After she departed from American Idol, Leer secured a record deal and began working on her EP, set to release on September 14. Leer has released two new singles this year: both her songs are based on things Leer has experienced in her life. In February, she released her song “Brought a Girl” and “After 1” in June. She was featured in country artist Logan Mize’s song “Nothing With You” and toured with Mize on his “It’s About Time” tour in 2022.

“These past couple of years have just been writing like crazy and really honing in on what I want to say as an artist,” Leer said in her yourbigsky interview.
