According to a press release, the Northern Cheyenne Tribal Council is urging Lame Deer residents to be aware of their surroundings after a fatal shooting occurred in the area Tuesday night. The shooter is still on the run, and anyone who sees suspicious activity should call 406-477-6288.

In a Facebook post, The Rosebud County Sheriff’s office says the suspect is a male approximately in his 30s with long brown hair with tattoos on one arm. The male suspect is reported to be wearing a long-sleeve brown shirt with gray pants and a blue baseball hat.

The Sheriff’s office also residents in the Ashland area to avoid the area near the St. Labre school and to report suspicious activity as well.
