The Montana Department of Transportation announced today that the new roundabout on Central Avenue and 56th Street West in Billings is now open to drivers. The intersection was closed temporarily in May to construct the new roundabout.

The Press release says additional work needs to be done on the intersection, such as installing road signs, fencing, grass, and roadway striping. The intersection is part of the 56th Roundabouts: King & Central project that will help to improve traffic flow and avoid serious accidents from occurring in the intersections. The project serves drivers and residents on the far west end side of Billings, Montana. The project is expected to be finished by the winter of 2022.

The second phase of the project is the construction of the second roundabout on King Avenue and 56th Street West. Traffic control measures have been implemented at this location to ensure the safety of workers and drivers.

Drivers are urged to drive safely around work zones, stay vigilant of construction workers and respect any road closures put in place.
