The Rimrock Mall in Billings, Montana, is partnering with Family Service to launch the Season of Serving Campaign from September 19 through October 8. According to the press release, this campaign aims to fight hunger in the community.

Several stores in the mall will act as reciprocals to collect non-perishable food, clothing, and household items to help support families in need. Donations can be dropped off at any of these stores: Dillard’s, Journey’s, JC Penny, GNC, Mainstreet Menswear, Eddie Bauer, Trade Home Shoes, Magic City Gymnastics, Shoe Department Encore, and Doggie Style Gourmet Treats LLC. Donations can be dropped off any time from 11 am to 8 pm.

Family Service is an organization that works to prevent hunger and homelessness while trying to alleviate poverty in Yellowstone County. Family service started serving the community in 1906 after a group of pastors in Billings came together to create the current organization. Early ledgers and notes show that some of the funds from Family Service were used to help pay for medicine for sick children. They also helped to provide clothes for a family that lost their home in a house fire.

While area pastors no longer run the organization, Family Service has stayed true to its values of helping vulnerable populations for over 100 years. The organization offers several different services for families in need, including their thrift store with great sales and some clothing prices as low as 50 cents. No one is turned away if they cannot pay for their items and can receive vouchers for them from an intake specialist. The low-cost Family Service Thrift store is open Monday through Friday from 9 am to 5 pm.

Family Service also provides bountiful and nutritious food boxes that have impacted over 30,000 households in Yellowstone County. The organization offers these food boxes Monday through Friday from 10 am to 4 pm. They also have the Senior Commodity Food Program for people over the age of 60 that make less than a monthly income of 1,473 dollars.
