Registration for Shape Up Montana: Jump Start is now open! The Jump Start Program runs from November 1 – 30, encouraging Montana residents to exercise daily and promote healthy eating. Shape up Montana is a program from the Big Sky State Games to encourage healthy eating and regular exercise.

Jump Start is an individual-based program focused on completing daily activity streaks. Participants have two activity streaks to choose from, 30 minutes of movement every day or one mile of steps per day. Participants commit to meeting their goal for 30 days.

Big Sky State Games medals are awarded at the end of the month to those who complete their exercise goal. A gold medal is given to participants who complete their 30-day average. Silver medals are given to those who completed 25-29 days, and bronze medals are given to those who completed 20-24 days.

Other amenities for the Jump Start Program include weekly inspirational emails that include healthy recipes, weekly challenge drawings, and a free 2022 Big Sky State Games T-shirt. Participants also have the option to be a part of a private Facebook group for a chance to win even more prizes!

Liana Susott, Executive Director for the Big Sky State Games, says they got the idea from Idaho with their program “Lighten Up Idaho.” They decided to run with the idea, bringing it to Montana. Thus Shape Up Montana was born!

The team-based Shape Up Montana program starts February 1 through May 1, with registration starting January 1. This program allows teams to compete with other teams across the state. The winners receive performance-wicking socks. They also have a free Shape Up Montana program called Big Sky Fit Kids.

More than 75,000 Montanans have put in over 14 million miles since the program began 18 years ago. Those who are interested in participating in Shape Up Montana: Jump Start can register here.
