Billings’ Ladies flag football team The Fierce will be playing the Miles City Mayhem this weekend at Rocky Mountain College Herb Klindt Field. This Saturday at 6pm (doors open at 5) the game will be raising funds for Pack The Place in Pink and the Billings YWCA. Tickets are $5 while kids 10 and under can get in free.

The Billings Fierce is made up of athletes from age 20-50. The team is made up of 22 athletes who practice all spring to prepare for the game. The entire organization is volunteer based, from coaches to staff. Even teenage children of the players will help with drills.

In addition to women’s flag football, Fierce Football also supports a youth women’s tackle football team. The youth team is made up of 5th and 6th graders. In 2019 the youth team won the Hall of Fame Regional game and advanced to the Hall of Fame Bowl in Canton, Ohio. The Fierce are currently accepting players for their 2023 Fall Youth season.

Pack The Place In Pink, a local Montana non-profit, is one of the beneficiaries of Saturday’s game. Their mission is to support local Montana women with breast cancer financially through their treatment and recovery. So far Pack The Place In Pink had given over $650,000 to local Montana women.

The other beneficiary of the game is YWCA’s Gateway Horizons project. YWCA offers shelter for women who are victims of domestic abuse, and their shelter is always at capacity. The Gateway Horizons building is a 25-unit building that will be built on YWCA’s campus. They need to raise $4 million dollars to make the location a reality.

In the fall, Miles City will host the Montana Fierce for another benefits game. The Montana Fierce are sponsored by CHS and Rocky Mountain College.
