Billings Police Department provides update on Ave. B suspicious death

On 04/15/2021 at about 1:16 PM, Officers with the BPD were dispatched to conduct a welfare check at residence in the 1000 block of Avenue B. Upon Officers arrival they located the residence, a 64 year old female from Billings, deceased.

The deceased female showed suspicious signs of trauma. The Investigations Division was called out to investigate and subsequently conducted a search warrant of the residence. During the course of the investigation, Detectives developed two (2) persons of interest, sought for questioning.

Shortly after 4 PM, the BPD placed an Attempt To Locate (ATL) for a vehicle and the two (2) persons of interest, which was broadcast to all Law Enforcement in Montana.

Late last night, the vehicle and two (2) persons of were later located deceased after a series of events currently under investigation by the Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office. Please direct any inquiries regarding the incident events near West Yellowstone to either the National Parks Service or Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office.

The suspicious death investigation remains on-going to include a scheduled autopsy to determine cause of death. Detectives with the BPD will continue to work closely and coordinate with Gallatin County regarding the connection of the two incidents.

The names of the decedents will be released per standard procedure by the Coroner. The investigation remains active and on-going. No additional details to be released at this time.
