Billings Police Department releases information on 7/6 Samuel Court homicide

On 07/06/2020 at about 11:35 PM, Officers with the Billings Police Department (BPD) were dispatched to the 600 block of Samuel Court for a disturbance with a person being held at gun point. While responding officers were notified that someone had been shot.

BPD Officers arrived to find a 21 year old male, from Billings, lying in the street with a gunshot wound. The male was transported by ambulance to a local medical facility where he died of his injuries.

The shooter, a 52 year old male from Billings, was interviewed and released. The investigation is classified as a homicide and remains open, on-going, and assigned to the BPD Investigations Division.

In relation, approximately 10 minutes prior to the incident on Samuel Court an employee of the Town Pump, located at 450 Mains Street, called 911 to report an intoxicated male walking in and out of traffic. Investigators believe the intoxicated male and the deceased were the same person.
