Billings Public Library celebrates Family History Month with genealogy classes

Billings Public Library and the Yellowstone Genealogy Forum will co-host a series of classes on genealogy in October for Family History Month.  The programs will be at the Billings Public Library and all presentations are free and open to the public. Join us to discover research ideas!

The Wednesday genealogy classes will consist of two parts:  the class from approximately 3-4 pm, then individual research from 4-5 pm.  All classes are in the 2nd floor Computer Classroom.

  • Wednesday, October 2nd, 3-5pm – Newspapers online – Finding your family
  • Wednesday, October 9th, 3-5pm – Military Records – How to track your service person
  • Wednesday, October 16th, 3-5pm – the Internet Archive – Your friend for research
  • Wednesday, October 23rd, 3-5pm – Digitize, Sort, & Save – scanning & organizing documents
  • Wednesday, October 30th, 3-5pm – DNA & Ancestry results – what does it all mean
