Arterial Drive to debut new song “Along the Trail”
Billings, Montana- July 1, 2019– Billings TrailNet invites the community to join in a FREE groundbreaking event they are calling “Trailblazing Celebration”. The festivities will take place at Zimmerman Park on Saturday, July 13, 2019, from 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. Included in the celebration: live music by Arterial Drive, raffle prizes, a Family Fun Run by Yellowstone Rimrunners at 11:30 (no pre-registration necessary), food trucks, trail activities, and commemoration by Mayor Bill Cole and the state director of Montana Department of Transportation, Mike Tooley. The event will be emceed by Chaq and Alex from Total Nutrition.
Kristi Drake, Billings TrailNet’s executive director, says “We’re celebrating the groundbreaking of The Skyline Trail! It will be a picture-postcard trail that will connect Zimmerman Park to Swords Park, and will allow people of all ages and ability levels to enjoy the view during a walk, run, or ride along the Highway 3.”
A small segment of the trail will be built this summer with generous donation of pavement from Riverside Contracting, in collaboration with Yellowstone County Parks, Montana Department of Transportation, the City of Billings, Sanderson Stewart and Billings Parks and Recreation Department. A special thank you will be given to Phillips 66 for their donation of a new public restroom at Zimmerman Park, which marks the beginning of the trail from the west.
Billings TrailNet invites the entire community to celebrate this major accomplishment. Everyone who attends can enter their free raffle for lots of great prizes, and must be present to win.
