Home Selling:

  1. Upgrade Your Property

    Before selling your home, upgrade and update to add more appeal for potential buyers. Making your home move-in ready can be key for a successful sale.

  2. Look Into Hidden Costs

    Don’t forget about the often-overlooked hidden costs, like property taxes, insurance premiums and any Homeowners Association (HOA) dues. Taxes and HOA dues vary, so be sure to ask for details. It’s important to figure all this out before committing to a property to ensure you can afford the entire scope of fees associated with it.

  3. Keep Your Property Maintained

    Clean the roof and gutters. The roof is a major home maintenance and expense item. Tree branches on the roof, clogged, sagging, gutters and algae growth detract from the home’s appearance and give the impression of the roof (and the home itself) being neglected. If the roof needs replacement, bite the bullet and replace it. Otherwise clean debris from the roof and gutters, have any moss or algae growth removed and reattach any loose gutters.

  1. Communicate Clearly with Your Agent

    Tell your Realtor exactly what you are looking for so they can best help you find the right home. The more specific you can be, the better your Realtor can be helpful.
  2. Sit Down with Your Agent and Walk Through the Process

    As a first-time home buyer, you’ll have a lot of questions and your realtor is there to help you navigate through this and prepare you as best as possible, for what exactly you’ll be experiencing. They will set realistic time frame goals and expectations on what your budget allows.
  3. Don’t Skip the Home Inspection

    The home inspection is an opportunity for you to learn about your home. It is not a chance to renegotiate the contract or walk away if the seller doesn’t fix every little thing. It simply educates you about your home.
